Perhaps I can help. As a young person experiencing a spiritual awakening, I was hospitalized and put on mood-stabilizing and antipsychotic medications. Thankfully, I quickly managed to extricate myself from the medical and psychiatric establishment and seek real answers about the path I’d been shown. Along the way, I found countless others like me—people who were searching for answers outside the confines of the medical establishment. I founded the “Awaken in the Dream” community here in Portland and began hosting regular meetings to support others in their emergence as well.
Incredibly, that was over thirty years ago. Since then I’ve been in private practice, helping others who are also awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality. I’m recognized as a pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence, featured in books such as Saints and Madmen: Psychiatry Opens its Doors to Religion and The Spiritual Gift of Madness; in a dream come true, psychiatrists now consult with me.
