Dear Paul,
I've really been enjoying your website; as a painter I recognise what you're saying about artists, and I'm also teaching (in an Art School) within an educational system that requires us to use current educational language - the gap has been painful for many years but I'm now working with a colleague to bridge the gap. We're writing a paper about Motivation and creativity and I'd like to find the original source of the following quote to support our inclusion of discussion of the Muse: "Jung said, “The unborn work in the psyche of the artist is a force of nature‚ĶWe would do well, therefore, to think of the creative process as a living thing implanted in the human psyche.” This “living thing implanted in the human psyche” is a creative and creating spirit, an inspiring wind that blows where it wills. Speaking of this living spirit, Jung commented that, “it freely chooses the men [and women] who proclaim it and in whom it lives.” This is to say that the creative spirit is autonomous and not under the control of our ego."

Many thanks for sharing your writing on the website so generously,

Best wishes,

Dear Paul,
Thank you for putting into words my deepest feelings. You are the first voice I hear describing a new-ancient way for the artist to express and the process it involves. You are the first voice to project a new vision in an noisy artworld ruled by commerce.
How does one impart this spirit to galleries so that art becomes once again a sacred practice? At the moment it is well out of fashion.
May you be heard so that makers like myself find a visible presence.
Thank you,
